We wanted to let you know that we are very pleased with the remodel of our kitchen and the restructuring of the space to add a powder room. As a result the house is much more useable, practical and livable. On top of that every one of your employees was a pleasure to with with; in addition to being highly competent and capable. They treated us like friends, which only makes sense considering how much time they spent in our home.
Before starting this project, we sought out bids from three contractors. Only one, Lars, came up with a proposal. The other two stopped returning our calls. Was the project too big? Too hard? Too time consuming? We’ll never know. So we were faced with a dilemma – find more contractors to get competitive bids or just run with Lars? We asked around a bit, got only very positive feedback and decided to “go for it” with Lars Construction. It was the right thing to do; we could not be happier!
In the beginning we were presented with three or four different designs. Each was presented and the advantages and disadvantages were discussed. We think this process helped us come to the right conclusion. The final design took the best advantage of the space available, with just the right modern touches while being true to the look and feel of the house’s 1923 ambiance. And did we mention beautiful yet? The kitchen is gorgeous and even the powder room gets rave reviews.
Our team (Brandon, John & Brian) was attentive to our wants and needs; whatever problems, concerns or issues came up, what we asked for was done, and done right. We’ve all heard stories about the stress remodeling can bring to people’s lives and marriages – not for us. Working with Lars was as stress free as remodeling can be! We were always treated with courtesy, respect and professionalism; there was great communication and an attitude that quality was the only goal. This went beyond the Lars team and included the sub-contractors as well. It is obvious that Lars only works with individuals and companies that embody the same attitude and spirit: treating the customer right and doing a great job.
Working with Gary on the “special” carpentry jobs was also a treat. The handling of the unusual features in our job was top notch.
