Interior Designer

As Interior Designer, our candidate will define the Scope of Work through assessment of the client’s needs, requirements and design/décor style. Provide design expertise and recommendations to clients including concept development, field measurements, space planning, generating visual plan layouts and sourcing products, materials and accessories.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare for all internal and client meetings with status and Agendas as necessary to communicate project status.
  • Attend all internal project meetings including, but not limited to: Debrief, Team and End of Design (EOD).
  • Attend all onsite and offsite client meetings including, but not limited to: Discovery, Design Selections, Design Review (DR), Selections meetings, Pre-Construction, Cabinet Sign-off, Electrical Walk, Countertop Sign-off and Closing meeting.
  • Full understanding of Lars process and meeting all project deadlines.
  • Attend project photo shoots and assist with staging when necessary.
  • Performs additional duties assigned by the Director of Design or other supervisory position that serves our clients and benefits the company.
  • Maintain a high level of current product knowledge in the marketplace.
  • Provide a written summary of the Discovery and or Design Selection meeting findings to the Design Team prior to the Debrief meeting.
  • Analyzing client’s needs and specifications to make sure the project is finished in accordance with the timeline and budget.
  • Collaborate with the client on design factors to achieve the client’s goals with the highest level of quality and finish.
  • Coordinate with the Project Managers and trade partners to insure a smooth build process.
  • Read, interpret, review, and make corrections to finished plans (ID Set) as needed.
  • Ensure all Allowance costs have been sourced and uploaded into the selections management software for approval and client viewing.
  • Ensure all selections are approved in selections management software prior to the EOD meeting.
  • Research products and materials as needed to support design team on technical issues influencing concept development.
  • Understand product cost and how they affect the project budget
  • Ensure follow-up with clients is completed on a regular basis.
  • Perform moderate tasks without supervision, or difficult tasks with supervision.
  • Build relationships with clients and knowing to read the different personalities presented.
  • Corresponds with clients in a proactive manner to insure they remain fully informed and up to date.
  • Submit weekly project updates to the Director of Design or Senior Interior Designer.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members to collaborate and complete the task at hand.
  • Data entry of all selections and materials into Builder Trend.
  • Visit job sites as needed.
  • On-going product knowledge, staying current of new design, materials and trends.
  • Use design software to create models and visuals.
  • Will perform any duties as instructed by the Director of Design, Senior or other Superior position that serves our clients and benefits our company.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • BA in Design or Architecture
  • Able to perform difficult tasks without supervision.

  • Customer service experience.

  • Basic knowledge of the industry.

Executive Assistant

We are looking for an Executive Assistant to perform a variety of administrative tasks and support our company’s sales department and senior-level managers. To be successful in this role, you should be well-organized, have great time management skills and be able to act without guidance. Ultimately, you will contribute to the efficiency of our business by providing personalized and timely support to our team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the point of contact among executives, employees, clients and other external partners
  • Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner
  • Manage calendars and set up meetings
  • Act as an office manager by keeping up with office supply inventory and the maintenance of office equipment
  • Format information for internal and external communication – memos, emails, presentations, reports

Appliance/Plumbing Fixture Sales Consultant

Lars is currently seeking an experienced Sales Consultant to join our dynamic team and help to lead the growth of the department.

General Job Description

Assume the role of a results-based driven and ambitious manager for the Appliance/Fixture Showroom, working with the sales team to proactively drive sales of appliances and fixtures while successfully launching exceptional levels of service and delivering excellent standards to our customers while developing relationships. Ensure that top end appliance and fixture brands and message are reinforced through the overall showroom experience. Manage the showroom to ensure sales growth targets are achieved on a continual basis.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand the local market of appliances and fixtures to continually improve showroom performance by analyzing market data in order to identify trends and gaps impacting sales and customer services.
  • Set aggressive goals to ensure achievement of sales and income plans targeting at a minimum annually at 20% or greater and is accountable for effectively managing all aspects of the profit and loss within the appliance/fixture showroom.
  • Maximize showroom sales opportunities, and effectively implement company programs in support of initiatives.
  • Ensure the appliance showroom attracts clients and encourages them to buy making sure annual budgets are met in accordance with the sales plan.
  • Ensure the transaction responsibilities in the handling of sales, answering questions, and addressing customer concerns are handled in accordance with established procedures.

Minor Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in Lars Remodeling Workshops and special events.
  • Keep Directors apprised of all unusual situations, customer concerns, and other irregularities.

Residential Architectural Draftsperson

Lars Remodeling & Design, an award-winning home remodeling company based in San Diego, CA. that specializes in residential remodels and new home construction, is seeking a Residential Designer to join our dynamic design + build team. This is a full-time, office-based position. No telecommuting.

Candidates will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Work with the project team on conceptual designs, presentations, design development and production
  • Coordinate with consultants and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
  • Resolve design solutions
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3d renderings and construction drawings
  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience in residential design
  • Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve individually and with the project team
  • Proficient in Acad and Revit, experience with chief architect is a plus
  • Knowledge of materials, construction techniques and building codes

Conceptual Designer

Using free hand sketches on flimsy in conjunction with 3D computer design software to create and develop the Conceptual Design for the project based on information gathered by the Project Consultant and project Interior Designer. Insuring that the finished design is presented with a real-world aesthetic through furniture layout and room décor. Design criteria and layout information is relayed to the Concept Designer during the project Design Debrief meeting. The information used by the Concept Designer includes but is not limited to: furniture layout, flooring material, counter top material, tile, cabinetry, paint, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, appliances, exterior trims and finishes. Once a project contracts, the Concept Designer is responsible for the creation of the Interior Design Drawings that will become part of the Construction Documents. These drawings show the location of each product selection chosen such as finish materials, appliances, plumbing and light fixtures, etc.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Attend Design Debrief Meetings
  • Create As-Built floor plans and models to be printed ad used in the Design Debrief meetings.
  • Using Chief Architect software to create 3D Models based on information gathered by the Project Consultants and Interior Designers during Discovery meetings.
  • Performs additional duties assigned by the Director of Design or other supervisory position that serves our clients and benefits the company.
  • In 3D, layout and furnish all areas to be remodeled on each project including but not limited to cabinetry, plumbing, built-ins, tile and electrical.
  • Continue to revise and develop the 3D model as needed.
  • For projects under Build contracts, create interior elevations and design details using AutoCAD when needed.
  • Prepare photo realistic presentation images for clients as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working in the residential /interior design field.
  • Solid understanding of basic design principles.
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD, Chief Architect, Adobe Photoshop, and general Microsoft Office applications.
  • Hands on experience with office equipment such as fax machine and printers.

Estimator / Purchaser

A dual role that immediately adds value to the company, the Estimator/Purchaser collects and analyzes data in order to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to complete a project. Also buys raw materials, inventory, equipment, and services that are necessary for our business to maintain the company operations of our projects.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Estimate projects prior to contracting in addition to construction products and materials, including labor. Establishing project costs by determining quantities and measurements of all construction scopes and applying unit costs.
  • Prepare construction budget by studying home plans, updating specifications, identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.
  • Communicate with trade partners their scope of work to establish a preliminary cost. Receive and evaluate subcontractor quotes for applicable alignment with contractor bid documents qualifying vendor proposals to ascertain scope duplication and/or omissions.
  • Specification writing for contracted projects and purchasing materials. Write necessary specifications within 5 business days of contract.
  • Provide purchasing plan and control information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data.
  • Efficiently estimate/ purchase each project with a minimum 43% Gross Profit.

  • 5 years of experience in construction estimating

Jr. Interior Designer

Assist the project Interior Designer in his/her daily duties of project design and development to include but not limited to: product research, product selections, sourcing of materials, material costs, Selections Library maintenance and Client Presentations. Report to the Director of Design on tasks and work directly with him/her to ensure the facilitation of the project’s completion.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule meetings with sales representatives to acquire the most current product for the Selections Library.
  • Organize Selections Library daily. Insure all labels and tags are current, neat and clean.
  • Maintain Selections Library inventory. Order product from vendors as needed.
  • Prepare presentation materials with the direction of the project Interior Designer.
  • Acquire product samples for project Interior Designer when needed.
  • Performs additional duties assigned by the Director of Design or other supervisory position that serves our clients and benefits the company.
  • Prepare Selection Binders for Project Managers.
  • Data entry of all selections and materials into Builder Trend
  • Insure that all relevant costs have been obtained for allowance items, enter cost into Builder Trend.
  • Interact with the Project Managers and trade partners as needed.
  • Read, interpret, review, and make corrections to finished plans as needed.
  • Research concepts and materials to support design team on technical issues influencing concept development.
  • Create Materials Boards for Presentations as needed.
  • Perform small tasks without supervision, or moderate tasks with supervision within a given time and framework.
  • Submit weekly project updates to the Director of Design.
