Now situated with a lovely ocean and skyline view of the San Diego harbor, this home remodel began with a plan to enhance its already charming qualities. Every feature was carefully selected to complement each other, from the landscaping to the living room fireplace tile.
This Point Loma cottage home had the potential of a priceless view to the bay. The homeowner and their Project Consultant from Lars Remodeling & Design took out a ladder and climbed onto the roof together to visualize what a second story view could be. There was no question after that. We took the house down to the studs, adding 236 sf to the first floor and a 980 sf second floor master retreat, maximizing the views with abundant windows and a second story deck on the front of the house.
It’s easy for a themed home to stray off track but our masterful designers balance the fanciful with tasteful. With a large project like this, it was important to hit every project timeline milestone and stay on track. Having a meeting with their project manager once week enabled smooth communication, resulting in a truly breathtaking home.
The second story addition was paramount to the success of this remodel. Upstairs, the living area captures the harbor view and opens onto the relaxing front deck complete with comfortable outdoor furniture. Also added, is a kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom, and master bedroom & bath, carefully designed by Lars.
