Residential Remodeling Project Manager
Lars Remodeling & Design, a full-service design+build residential remodeling company in San Diego, is hiring a Residential Remodeling Project Manager to join our growing team.

Major Responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling and ensuring quality results from Trade Partners
  • Daily communication (weekly face-to-face meetings) with Clients
  • Collecting payments
  • Arranging inspections
  • Ensuring a safe work environment for everyone on site
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously

Requirements:

  • Ability to read a set of plans
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes
  • Extensive rough and finish carpentry skills and training
  • Knowledge of a broad range of construction methods and techniques
  • Computer skills: aptitude with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Cloud-based software
  • Strong communication, job coordination, organizational, leadership and supervisory skills
  • A good understanding of all trades relevant to residential construction
  • The ability to interact and communicate well with clients throughout the job
  • The physical ability to lift 50lbs

Project Consultant

OVERVIEW

Specializing in Residential Design Sales to successfully complete the sale of the Lars Design-Build remodeling services. Engage, assess, and procure new clients through self-promotion and/or leads generation. Meet prospective clients at their home to discuss design options, cost ranges, timeframes and the Lars Design-Build process. Provide the highest level of customer service through weekly updating to our clients throughout the Design-Build process. The Project Consultant is the direct conduit between the Homeowner and the Lars Team.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Able to perform moderate tasks without supervision, or difficult tasks with supervision.
  • Provide in-home consultations with prospective clients to obtain a Design Agreement
    • Establish rapport and obtain customers appointments in-home and at Lars Remodeling & Design for various meetings/ reviews.
    • Educate potential clients of the design services provided by Lars Remodeling & Design
    • Discuss and provide accurate time frames relating to design, permitting, and building of projects
    • Discuss and provide accurate cost ranges directly relating to the Homeowners project(s)
    • Educate potential clients on all company-sponsored finance options available.
    • Must communicate effectively to have a clear understanding of individual homeowners’ goals, expectations, design possibilities and costs.
    • Manage, document, and follow up with all potential clients by calling, in-person communication and email through BuilderTrend
  • Effectively convert at least 15% of Design Consultations into Design Agreements
    • Properly document existing home building/ finish characteristics.
    • Effectively communicate to your team the ideas, goals, budget and timeframe of new Design clients
    • Report updates on a regular basis to the Vice President at the weekly Sales meetings.
    • Manage the design team throughout the Design & estimating process
    • Review designs, estimating and Scope of Work to effectively communicate to the team and our clients in the Design Review process.
    • Update, document and provide any/all changes within 48 hours resulting from conversations/ Design Reviews with the Homeowner for the team to properly update plans, pricing, and Scope of Work.
  • Maintain relationship and communication throughout the Production of the project
    • Meet monthly at a scheduled weekly meeting
  • Cultivate and self-generate leads/ sales for Lars Remodeling & Design
  • Must be able to sell 2.5 million dollars annually (Initial year), 3m (thereafter)

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience in Home Sales of residential remodeling.
  • Construction and Project Management experience a plus.
  • Efficient at cost estimating.
  • Able to perform physical tasks such as but not limited to lifting of heavy objects.

Senior Interior Designer

JOB TITLE: Sr. Interior Designer

DEPARTMENT: Design

SUPERVISOR: Director of Interior Design

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Interior Designer (Sr. ID) must be able to perform all duties of an Interior Designer as outlined in that job description, see “Major Duties and Responsibilities” below. Additionally, the Sr. ID assists the Director of Interior Design in providing additional oversight for the Interior Design staff ensuring that;

  • selection meetings are being scheduled and held in a timely manner,
  • that selections are input into the selections management software with accurate descriptions and costs adhering to the company’s best practices and procedures,
  • that selections are completed on schedule and per Lars procedures.

The Sr. ID is responsible for training and mentoring new Jr. Interior Designers and Interior Designers.

The Sr. ID performs additional duties assigned by the Director of Interior Design or other supervisory position that serves our clients and benefits the company.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sr Interior Designer:

  • Reports to the Director of Interior Design on tasks assigned and works directly with him/her to ensure the facilitation of project completion, company and department standards.
  • Provide training and mentoring of Jr. Interior Designers and Interior Designers within the company.
  • Ensure the Selections Library is current, relevant and cutting edge.

Interior Designer:

  • Prepare for all internal and client meetings with status and Agendas as necessary to communicate project status.
  • Attend all internal project meetings including, but not limited to: Debrief, Team and End of Design (EOD).
  • Attend all onsite and offsite client meetings including, but not limited to: Discovery, Design Selections, Design Review (DR), Selections meetings, Pre-Construction, Cabinet Sign-off, Electrical Walk, Countertop Sign-off and Closing meeting.
  • Full understanding of Lars process and meeting all project deadlines.
  • Attend Photo shoot and assist with staging where necessary.
  • Performs additional duties assigned by the Director of Interior Design or other supervisory position that serves our clients and benefits the company.
  • Maintain a high level of current product knowledge in the marketplace.
  • Provide a written summary of the Discovery and or Design Selection meeting findings to the Design Team prior to the Debrief meeting.
  • Analyzing client’s needs and specifications to make sure the project is finished in accordance with the timeline and budget.
  • Collaborate with the client on design factors to achieve the client’s goals with the highest level of quality and finish.
  • Coordinate with the Project Managers and trade partners to insure a smooth build process.
  • Read, interpret, review, and make corrections to finished plans (ID Set) as needed.
  • Ensure all Allowance costs have been sourced and uploaded into the selections management software for approval and client viewing.
  • Ensure all selections are approved in selections management software prior to the EOD meeting.
  • Research products and materials as needed to support design team on technical issues influencing concept development.
  • Understand product cost and how they affect the project budget.
  • Ensure follow-up with clients is completed on a regular basis.
  • Perform moderate tasks without supervision, or difficult tasks with supervision.
  • Build relationships with clients and knowing to read the different personalities presented.
  • Corresponds with clients in a proactive manner to insure they remain fully informed and up to date.
  • Provide training and mentoring of Jr. Interior Design staff.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members to collaborate and complete the task at hand.
  • Data entry of all selections and materials into Builder Trend.
  • Visit job sites as needed.
  • Ongoing product knowledge to stay current of new design, materials and trends.
  • Use design software to create models and visuals.
  • Will perform any duties as instructed by the Director of Interior Design, Senior or other Superior position that serves our clients and benefits our company.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • Must have 3-5 years of management experience within the industry.
  • Can work on any/all phases of development including Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Interior Design Construction Documents.
  • BA in Design or Architecture

Junior Interior Designer

JOB TITLE: Jr. Interior Designer

DEPARTMENT: Design

SUPERVISOR: Director of Interior Design

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist the project Interior Designer in his/her daily duties of project design and development to include but not limited to: product research, product selections, sourcing of materials, material costs, produce/revise ID Sets, Selections Library maintenance, data entry into BuilderTrend and Client Presentations and meetings.

Report to the Project’s Interior Designer on tasks and work directly with him/her to ensure the facilitation of the project’s completion.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend periodic internal and client meetings with project Interior Designer.
    • Discovery meetings – Introduction to clients and site overview. Take notes or photographs as needed and assist ID with documenting and organizing project goals. Start collecting inspiration images, and identifying material and product specifications and samples that may be needed for the project.
    • Debrief meetings – Assist team in design development of project.
    • Work with ID to prepare presentation PowerPoint and materials for Design Review meetings.
    • Work with RDs to develop 3D rendering perspectives with sketch and material layouts as needed.
    • Upon contract, create a blocked ID set of final design for 1st Selections meeting with client.
    • Set up BuilderTrend and update with final Selections as the design develops. This includes all material Selections, Electrical fixtures and Plumbing & Appliance Selections.
    • Team meeting – Assist team in project review process.
    • Selections meetings – Attend 1st Selections meeting with ID and clients to gain knowledge on contracted plan and material inspiration.
    • Order all samples and materials needed for the project as the design develops.
    • Order and track cabinet paint/stain samples.
    • Finalize all details on the ID set of plans and complete a Department review in a timely manner before client signing. Scan and upload to the server and BuilderTrend when complete. Print copies of the finalized ID set for EOD meeting.
    • Complete take-offs for tile, countertops, etc. as needed and request quotes from vendors for all Allowance items. Coordinate with the Estimating/Purchasing department to keep orders and pricing ready for purchasing.
    • Complete job binders for EOD meeting.
    • EOD meeting – Assist ID and team to address any outstanding Selections or design issues that need attention.
    • Job site visits include, but not limited to the following: Electrical walk, beginning of tile installation, drywall installation, project check-ins during PM and client’s weekly meetings.
  • Interact with the Project Managers and trade partners as needed.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Organize Selections Library daily. Ensure all labels and tags are current, neat and clean.
  • Schedule Product Knowledge (PK) lunch meetings with sales representatives. Must have Director of Interior Design approval.
  • Maintain Selections Library inventory. Order product from vendors as needed.
  • Prepare presentation materials with the direction of the Project’s Interior Designer.
  • Meet weekly with ID to review weekly project tasks and deadlines.
  • Send out a Project Status update on Fridays to the ID Team.
  • Maintain Outlook calendar along with Team emails to keep up to date on all assigned projects.
  • Assist ID’s in prepping meeting rooms and picking up materials after client meetings.
  • Maintain proficiency with the companies drafting and design software to create models and visuals including, but not limited to: CAD, Revit, Sketchup and Lumion.
  • Return materials to showrooms.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members to collaborate to complete the task at hand.
